How to make carnations with fabulous FOAMIRAN

Morning everyone and welcome to 14 Craft Bar and my first ever post with this lovely Design Team.

Today I have kept things simple and made a pretty white carnation.

HERE IS THE TUTORIAL FOR THE WHITE CARNATIONS

YOU WILL NEED

White and green foamiran, cocktail stick, stencils, scissors, ball tool, foam sponge, brown ink and applicator, iron and hot glue gun.

STEP 1

Gather supplies 

STEP 2

Take the white foam, stencil and a cocktail stick, fold foam in half and trace around the flowers with the cocktail stick, I used four flowers per each finished carnation, cutting two at a time.

STEP 3

Cut out all your flowers, you will need four per size if you want to make four flowers in different sizes

STEP 4

Take scissors and cut off the edges with a frill

They should look like this

STEP 5

Now take the green foamiran, stencil and cocktail stick and draw around the leaf shape

STEP 6

Cut out all your leaves, I used three per flower

STEP 7

Using the cocktail stick and a hot iron (no steam) heat flower for a few seconds on medium heat

STEP 8

Whilst still hot, roll and squeeze the flower between your fingers

They should look like this, from the iron to squished

STEP 9

Do the same with the leaves

Your leaves should look like this

STEP 10

Now using your ball tool, squish the centers of the flowers into the foam 

I used ordinary kitchen sponge with a dry wet wipe on top

Squish each layer one at a time

Your flowers should look like this

STEP 11

Now add a small dot of hot glue between all the layers and hold tight until cool

STEP 12

Lightly ink the leaf edges in brown ink

STEP 13

Hot glue the leaves to the back of the carnation

Your finished carnations should look like this
