For You - mdf decor

I think it is important that we can use our products all year round and just because a range is labelled as Winter/Christmas if you we choose wisely it can be used to good effect out side that season. I hope that this piece demonstrates this.

The base of this piece was created on the teapot MDF artboard which comes complete with the attatchments so that the finished piece can be hung easily. The base was primed with gesso before painting with a denim blue shade of acrylic paint - there are several alternative blues if you search under Pentart that will work well. Once the paint had dried I then added details to the base by applying more gesso through a swirly stencil and left it to dry.

Next I added a a beautiful winter paper to an approximately 7" circle of grey board before filing the edges smooth and adding some chipped saphire distress ink to the edges. I then applied some beautiful grey lace to the back of the greyboard circle pleating it as I adhered it in place. The prepared circle was then adhered to the teapot base with some scrap cardboard lifting it slightly off the surface.

I took a second piece of the winter paper and cut out the witner queen circle before scruffing up the edges and adding more lace. This was then layered using more scrap cardboard on to the circle applied in the laststep.

To embellish the piece I chose to add some chipboard elements - a rose wreath ( he freesia will work just as well adding one on top and cuting another into two to slip below the paper circle. Ithen fussy cut elements from the winter is coming flowers paper shaping them with a ball tool and layering them to create more dimension. The floral elemtns and the leaves were then adhered in place adding more chipboard leaves

Finally I added some glitter for a little sparkle and then some splatters of watered down white gesso.

Memories suede cover album

For this project I chose to work with an album that contains a hidden spiral hinge. The principles of forming the pages can how ever be appliec to any of the albums that are in the shop. I covered my album with a piece of co-ordinating suede fabric to give it a luxious feel with out the need to spend time making lots of fabric hinges. There are lots of fabrics to choose from in the shop so just go for one that will work with your chosen paper collection or a neutral such as the pearl gray. I chose to keep the title deliberately vague but the imagery would work well for any special occasion including weddings and communion because of the florals that are consistent thought out the piece.

Having covered the album base I then used the Afternoon Walk 12 x 12 with shabby ribbons8 x 86 x 12 junk journal and  extras papers to decorate my pages.

There are three page styles in this album a pocket page album created by adding a base piece of paper to the page insert and then adding a smaller piece of paper adhered on 3 sides to make a pocket. In to each pocket I then added a 5" square card blank decorated with paper element.

The second page type has two layers of decorative papers layered to give a good sized matt and then topped with a 5" square piece of white card.

Through out the album embellishment clusters were added with fussy cut paper elements, grey lace with our without chipboard elements - the  chipboards I used were from half wreath set ( I broke the larger pieces up), large flowers set, lantern with flowers set and some additional left over leaves.

The third page type was created by mistake! I glued the pocket down on all sides and so for this page type I added a 5" cardblank adhering it centrally on the backgound papers.

For the cover of the album I added the co-ordiating shabby ribbon from the pack so carefully put together by Agnieszka. For a different closure I added a loop of ribbon to the fron cover hiding it under the lantern with flowers and to the back cover I secured a folded length of ribbon giving two free ends one of which is then passed trhought the loop of ribbon on the front before tying closed. Decorative papers ribbon and a sentiment were then secured in place as shown.

Not So Traditional Valentines

Hello, dears! February is a month marked with red hearts and stuffed teddies, isn't it? However, to be honest, St. Valentine's day is not among my favourite holidays. I prefer white tulips rather than red roses and a good book instead of a plush heart :)

Therefore my Vanentine's cards are not traditional ones. A bit different story with the same meaning.
Anyway I hope you like them too!
