The Flower Lady

- FLOWERY WEEK -

This piece was made earlier this year - I hate waste and had papers left after I published a shaker embroidery hoop using P13 12 x 12 papers Sunshine and so an idea for this project was sparked. I started by making my paper flowers using Flowers 6 (Poppy) Die by  Lady E to cut one of the papers. The edge of the petals was then coloured with distress ink and the petals shaped with ball tools before layering two pieces and adding stamens.

I constructed the Snipart Mannequin deliberatly snapping off the leg piece so that the crinoline would sit directly on a surface. I painted this with a co-ordinating paint and dry brushed gesso over it to soften the overall effect.

I draped a piece of muslin/cheesecloth over the mannequin and then adhered the flowers in place using hot glue. The piece looked unbalanced with only the paper flowers from the die set and to balance it out I added co-ordinating paper roses in coral, orange and cream.

I tucked in some clusters of stamens before adding sentiments from the co-ordinating sticker sheet.

I hope my floral piece encourages you to take your crafting into the wonderful world of 3D.

The exploding box

Hi folks!

Today, I’d like to present you with a beautiful exploding box, which is a perfect gift for a girl on her First Communion day.

Base is  made out of a powder pink colored paper, and decorated with my handmade foamiran flowers.

Right in the center, you’ll find a wooden 3D sculpture of a kneeling girl.

While making the box, I decided to use soft shades of pink, white and round everything off by adding a few green leaves.

Spring wreaths

Hello, hi!
Do you have spring already? Do you like to decorate your home with handmade decorations?

While I made these wreaths (which I hung in the kitchen windows), I realized that although I have been making foamiran flowers for 2-3 years, I used them for the first time to decorate at my home.

I have 2 kitchen windows and I made spring wreaths for them, I decorated them with flowers made by me with foamiran, which I slightly colored with pastels in the color of a delicate green.

I added a little of sisal, tiny eggs, a few green branches, a feather .... and decoration ready.

It's truly spring style, isn't it?
