The Story Teller - home decor

As we turn out heads from Christmas makes but the view outside is still quite gloomy it is time for our crafty thoughts to turn to brightening up our home decor and also to look towards better days to come. For this post I have created a lit reverse canvas using Hortensia 12 x 12 collection by Stamperia. I chose to work with a circular canvas approximately 12" diameter and cut a piece of patterned paper to sit inide the recess on the reverse of the frame adhering it in place using Stamperia Mixed Media Glue.

I then took a set of craft mini lights and tucked them into place around the edge of the frame - if you switch the lights on it allows you to work out your placing so that they are reasonably evenly distributed around the frame. At this stage I chose NOT to adhere the control piece in place.

I roughly cut out the focal image from its 12 x 12 sheet of paper and then adhered it using mixed media glue to a piece of stone paper and once that was dry fussy cut out the image.

I added some foam tape as spacers and rested the light switch inplace - doing this I was careful to orientate the switch in such a way as it can be slid out and into place so that the lights can be turned on or off as required and the batteries changed when necessary. I also addeda piece of Fabrika Decor rosette chipboard cut in half as shown.

I cut out a piece of paper to cover the circumference of the frame adding  lace to the inside and positioned it and the stone paper lady as shown.

I added fussy cut floral elements from the paper collection along with some chipboard swirls and little birdie flowers.

Finally I added a thin layer of crackle paste to the frame and my sentiment.

Karolina - The Flower Fairy

Karolina - short of her polish surname means "fairy tale" and this is the most appropriate term for her style. Every time her delicate, magical works lead us to the kingdom of flowers and nature. Now she took a break from the craft world, but whenever she'll be back, her experience and talent will delight us again. We wish her all the best.
Thank you Bajeczko!!!

Olya - The Shabby Chick Queen

Olya is for us the queen of laces, pearls, buttons and everything that is associated with this feminine and graceful "Shabby Chick" style. When she joined our DT a few seasons ago, she took the cards and albums to another level. With each new inspiration, we looked at the layers she creates and what she can build on and between them. Olya is one of the main impulses that led us to produce our Shabby Ribbons and we still enjoy seeing her using them in a multitude of different techniques, designs and styles. We are very happy that she still wants to create for us and inspires everyone who visits our social media.

14 Craft Bar KIT OF THE MONTH

Hello!

It's high time to sum up this weird year 2020, which forces us to stay at home and at the same time to develop our hobbies and passions. Finally we started tidying up photos, souvenirs or journals and started to scrap them. We started thinking how to show our family and friends our love by sending cards, tags, ATCs. Something that would be evidence of our care and longing.

Therefore, summing up this year, I can say that everyone who has a passion won with fear and dread of the pandemic. This colorful, craft world attracted more new customers, fans and people, who love handmade as much as we do.

To help you to develop you passion and to meet your needs we created KIT OF THE MONTH. You liked it and you believed in our taste and the fact that we can choose perfect products by theme or color and you can make lots of amazing projects out of it.

Write in the comment on our Facebook or Instagram which kit you like the most and which you would like us to create this year. Watch the projects with hashtags #kitofthemonth or #14craftbarkitofthemonth because you can find there a lot of inspirations from our DT. Everyone who leaves comments by 31. 01will take a part in drawing our February Kit.

We keep our fingers crossed and look forward to your comments and projects made out of our kits. This year we will reward those who inspire and share their projects with hashtags #kitofhtemonth #14craftbarkitofthemonth.
