Journal - shaped mini album

When the lovely Agnieszka had a weekend of crafting in November last year I came home loaded with lots of goodies from the shop some of which are only just going onto the website. In amongst the stash were Delta 12 x 12 6 x 6  and A4 Delta papers, The Mintay Bird Cage Album and some sheets of large chipboard pieces from which I selected the birdcage set also fell into my suitcase.

The front cover and the large birdcages were painted with Sepia with Gold  Magic Paint and splattered with Forrest Moss Magic Paint mixing with water and a little pva glue to set in place.

The album was made by covering the solid chipboard pieces with papers from the collection. Photomats that are 10.5cm by 12cm were cut from watercolour paper and then decorated using tickets stamp and a pale grey ink. The photomats were edged with Forest Moss Magic paint (if not on the website yet - it is coming). I used a fan brush to add the details and also to add splaters to the pages before adhering them in place.

I kept the detail inside the album relatively flat with embellishment clusters cut from the papers and also added in some style 6 stickers (leaves) which is a product I just about never use but worked out really well for this project.

The album itself was then created by simply slipping alternate pages and bird cage chipboards on to a book ring which was further embellished with shabby ribbon 49 and 40.

To complete the album I added some berry clusters from leaf berries set and pieces cuf off leaf set 038 before adding some flowers - pastel green flowers and roses will give you a similar look providing you colour the roses with a brown spray ink or distress ink.

I hope you have found this tutorial helpful and take a look at the shaped albums and large chipboard elements on the website.
