Mixed Media Tag.

Welcome on this rare sunny day in Dublin.
Today I am sharing with you a little tag I made using gorgeous LemonCraft papers and I made a flower to go o  my tag. I have seen some of this open at the front style flower and thought they would be great when you don't want too much dimension on your project, it was my first try so I was happy with how it turned out.

I used the lovely soft pastels now available in the shop, these work a treat then applied with a wet wipe. I used gel medium and micro beads that were painted with gesso and then used the Liquarel watercolour Magenta to colour the stamen part of the flower.

Thank you for stopping by.

Handmade Gifts.

Good morning and welcome to the 14 Craft Bar blog on this dull and dreary morning here in Dublin.
Today I am sharing a few gifts I made for my daughters friends and teacher and my other daughters pre school teachers.

I had fun playing with the liquid watercolors available in the store. I used them to color some cheese cloth and to lightly stain the chipboard butterfly wings.
I also used the new soft pastels to add detail to the edges of my torn paper and to the corners of the canvas. I love these pastels!!!!! I have the set of Mungyo soft pastels and although I have yet to use the ones from the store on Foamiran I l prefer the rich color and the softness of the ones from 14 Craft Bar to the Mungyo Gallery ones. I have a feeling I am going to have to have the whole range as there are LOADS!!!

To make the body of my butterflies I used the little Styrofoam balls from the store.

This lovely flower is from 1 of  2 bags of lacy bits and pieces from the store and it is like a lucky dip of gorgeous elements.

In the photo above you can see another beautiful piece from my lacy lucky bag!

I used a stencil to add some modeling paste to add some texture.

The below photos are of post it pads I decorated for my girls teachers.

I used papers from the store on all projects!

Holiday Greetings Cards

Hello and Welcome to the blog this winters Saturday.
Today I am sharing with you a few cards I made for a swap on a Facebook group I am a member of.
I had to send to 5 recipients so I wanted to make the cards with all the same elements but have them slightly different. These are the cards I made.

I used the flower stencil 06 to make my holly leaves and although it is not showing very well in the photo I coated my holly leaves with magic glue and it gave them that waxy look that holly leaves have. If you have not seen Karolina's tutorial on using these stencils with a die cutting machine then have a look here. I love the versatility of these stencils, don't have a die cutting machine then these are for you.... Have a die cutting machine then these are fir you too!!! The Red/Copper Styrofoam balls were the perfect color to add as berries.
